The Experiential Learning and Student Success Marketing & Communications Manager (MCM) will implement the Ciocca Center (CC) and Education and Academic Experience (EAE) communication and marketing strategy. The MCM will develop, execute and manage the coordinated strategies to effectively promote and market the offerings in alignment with The College of the Holy Cross mission to ensure that all students have access to the College's resources. The MCM will play a major role to help build and manage applicable social media presence and deliver compelling communications that inform, motivate, and help connect the College community to content provided by the EAE team. This position will highlight the CC's & EAE role as the premiere resource for career expertise and program opportunities on campus and will drive student, campus, and employer engagement with the CC and EAE. In this role, the Marketing & Communications Manager will implement communications initiatives through in-person marketing, social media, email blasts, the websites and digital and print materials and will evaluate the effectiveness of these vehicles and initiatives; the MCM will also take on the role of managing internal communications across the EAE team. The MCM works with entire CC and EAE teams to provide marketing for all departmental events and has primary responsibility for maintaining and updating publications, handouts and brochures. Finally, the MCM is the primary liaison with the College's Marketing and Communications team (MarComm). Major Areas of Responsibility
- Create Content
- Create, curate and manage all published content relevant to reaching all constituents
- Develop copy and layout for marketing initiatives
- Work with department teams to create marketing pieces for all related events, including daily student digest email, posters/flyers, digital sign campaigns, postcards and other marketing methods as appropriate
- Develop and distribute weekly CC senior and internship e-newsletters to students
- Execute Digital & Social Media Marketing
- Leverage digital marketing vehicles to effectively reach key constituents and connect them with appropriate messages and resources
- Oversee Social Media tools (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat, blog, etc.) and be an advocate for Holy Cross in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate
- Evaluate and maintain the applicable websites and digital platforms
- Communications Management
- Create, implement and manage internal and external communications for the teams
- Create a cohesive suite of materials, including print and digital publications (e.g., brochures, annual reports, flyers, newsletters) that represent and position the CC and EAE in accordance with their strategic goals and most critical audiences
- Regularly write, design, and edit high quality communication materials delivered to varied audiences through a variety of means
- Oversee CC's Marketing student groups and EAE's marketing and communications interns. Advise on content and strategy
- Create and execute the student e-newsletters
- Manage online career resources and webpages
- Execute day-to-day social media engagement
- Marketing and Strategy
- Serve as the team's creative thinker and internal consultant on digital, print and social media strategy, acting as a proactive subject matter expert and developing team guidelines
- Evaluate existing print and electronic materials and redesign or create new materials to meet changing needs. This may include graphics, charts, informational flyers, print and digital materials, email campaigns, and web-based applications
- Maintain a current understanding of communication trends, especially in relation to engaging with our undergraduate demographic, within the parameters of institutional policies and branding
- Continuously research, test and propose new ideas for social media engagement that will enhance brand awareness as well as the reach to students
- Data and Reporting
- Measure and organize digital and social media analytics and reports on the effectiveness of communication campaigns; suggest ways to continuously improve and implement new strategies
- Actively manage data collected from constituent outreach to support and communicate the applicable stories
- Measure the impact of the marketing and communication efforts of the overall CC mission, initiatives and goals, analyzing quantitative, anecdotal and qualitative data
- Liaison with College Marketing and Communication
- Aid in collaboration between EAE and MarComm
- Represent EAE need to MarComm
- Assist the EAE team with applying branding and communications strategies

- A bachelor's degree (advanced degrees welcomed) and minimum of two-years professional experience in the marketing and communications field
- Must possess knowledge, skills and experience in marketing and communications
- Proven ability to utilize Creative Suite design programs-InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop - and traditional and dynamic presentation software (PowerPoint, Prezi, etc).
- Experience managing social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest etc.) and understanding of how platforms are best deployed in relevant scenarios
- Demonstrated ability to implement tools and creativity to produce a variety of communications and visually-savvy pieces (poster and print collateral, social media campaigns, email blasts) for a traditional college-aged population
- Display ability to effectively and creatively communicate information and ideas in written, graphic and video formats
- Demonstrate capability to guide co-workers when necessary (e.g. content development, creation and editing of content)
- Extremely well-organized and detail-oriented, with excellent follow-through and problem-solving ability in managing projects on tight deadlines within a fast-paced office environment with frequent interruptions
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Must be self-directed with the ability to work independently
- Evidence of achievement in a team culture and ability to work collaboratively with other staff
- Comfort with asserting one's own ideas while functioning as part of a high-performing team
- Possess can-do spirit, positive outlook, seeing the best in others
